here's what he has to say about it:

SO WHAT IS ATTACK OF THE KILLER ROBOTS?

It is Damien's stance against repetitive , copycat music. Much to the amazement of fans and listners worldwide Fernandez stripped himself of his ranking as one of the top urban music up and comers and took a chance many feared would see him fall before his journey even began

In a field where only the similar survive and to be different is to be discarded Damien took an amazing risk, 0ver half a million listners worldwide had experienced Fernandez as SIX3 or THE REMIX KING alongside T Pain, R Kelly , 50 Cent and Ludacris to name a few in a series of underground mixtapes which caught fire in the hip hop club scene worldwide . After hundreds of thousands of downloads , building a more than impressive fan base online and indeed proving to be the number one independant unsigned artist in Australia hands down fernandez was faced with a dilhema...He wasn't happy...[color=red]"I felt I had something way bigger in me but I was watering it down so it would fit into the urban catagory"- Damien Fernandez

Flash foward a few months I'm refining my new musical style and I've got way more direction with the sound. Ive narrowed all the influences down to three main standouts , rnb, electro and 80's rock (of course theres more but those three win majority) so now I had my music "rules" as I call them I began re tooling the songs accordingly with 80's drum machines, rock guitar solos and also formulating melody lines for vocals. I could hum every song in its entirity way before i wrote the words. All the melodies for the vocals just kinda fall out of me and then I go back and write lyrics, so I really knew what I wanted them to sound like befoer I knew what they were about....new hurdle
